Salon expansion

This summer the salon is to undergo another expansion. This time we are expanding our beauty department upstairs! The expansion will allow us to have a large relaxation beauty room where our holisitic, massage and beauty treatments will take place. We are also creating a unique manicure/pedicure area that will allow clients to have total calm and relaxation while we work on providing the most beautiful hands and feet. There will also be a separate area for spray tanning and other tanning treatments. We are designing the beauty area based on the requests and needs of our clients to make the experience truly unique. We will also be providing a wider range of treatments, some of which will include microdermabasion, skin peels, botox and many more. The work is due to take 4-5 weeks, however the salon will only be closed from 09-12 August 2010.

Job opportunity

We are currently seeking a new super stylist to join our team. We are looking for a senior stylist who is looking for the opportunity to work in our busy salon. In-salon make-up artist

As part of the Blush service we are now offering in-salon makeovers, wedding and occasional make up. We have three make-up artists available upon request. Clients now have the option of a free 'five minute make-over' with every visit subject to availability. If you would like this service simply mention this to your stylist when you come in.

Artdeco make-up

We are pleased to announce we have now launched our chosen make up range… Artdeco!

Artdeco is a professional make-up range and is used on many celebrities including Madonna, Melinda Messenger, Suzanne Shaw and Tara Palmer Tomkinson along with many others. It is also used on 'Dancing On Ice'. If you would like to find out more visit the Artdeco website.

Ruby’s colour degree!

Congratulations to Ruby for finally passing her Redken colour degree after studying extremely hard throughout 2009/2010.

Ruby is the youngest person in Wales to have achieved this and we are all extremely proud of her and the hard work she has put in during the last 18 months. Ruby is now responsible for all the colour training in the salon and ensures we are the first when it comes to new looks, trends and techniques.

Blush expansion

We are pleased to announce that we are having a much needed salon refurbishment and expansion. The purpose of the expansion is to make the salon an even better experience for you! The salon will be closed in order for the works to take place from Sunday 02 August until Monday 10 August 2009. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however our phone lines will be open and we will have staff in the salon if you should wish to call during this period.

What’s new

On arrival in the salon we are now offering a complimentary Summer Blush cocktail (non-alcoholic). We thought this would make a refreshing change and settle you into the Blush experience the moment you walk through the door! For those of you who have colour in the salon we are taking your relaxation to another level... foot spa heaven! Simply choose from one of our essential oils and sit back, we will do the rest. Make the most of every moment with us as this our treat for you.

The Joshua Foundation - Haircut 100

On Saturday 20 June we took part in supporting The Joshua Foundation to help raise money for children with terminal cancer to have a trip to Lapland. We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the clients who supported our 1980s themed event. We had a lot of fun during the day and raised a considerable amount of money from clients and the Blush team. As promised Victoria (salon owner) matched the total amount raised.

Achievements within the salon

Katie has recently received a certificate for completing the Manhandled cutting course in the Redken L'Oreal Studio in London. Milly is now well on her way to qualifying in her Teacher Training A1 award and will play a fundamental role within the salon training. We currently train our team in-house and we are planning to expand our training centre in Autumn 2009. Ruby's passion for colour continues... she is currently working toward her degree in colour and has recently received her certificate for Principles of Colour and Colour ER in London.
